DIGITAL

Digital
tachographs allow data to be recorded and stored to both
the driver’s card and the vehicle unit (VU).
Following
the adoption of EC regulation 561/2006 from 1st May 2006
the fitment of digital tachographs is mandatory for all
new vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes, but vehicles currently
using analogue tachographs are not required to retro fit
digital.
